Jurrasic Park Inspired Concept

A new painting, this one inspired by watching Jurrasic Park again a few days ago. Just letting the imagination create a place that I would love to visit some day. This was a chance to test a few new brushes whilst doing what I love best - painting up an epic environment!
All work in Photoshop. Spent a couple of evenings on this, one blocking out the composition, and another refining the lighting and detail.

Nothing too remarkable, just a few quick studies, chosen to try and capture something in particular - lighting, atmosphere, colour palette etc.

Here is a quick sketch i did based loosely on some photographic reference of Machu Picchu that I found on the web. This is about my 3rd attempt at using Painter, but occassionally i like to go back and give it a try again, as it really does create some beautiful effects. Finished this up with final colour corrections in Photoshop.

A little more refined than mmost sketches i do, but i wanted to take this one a little further, more towards a finished concept painting than just a sketch. I think this one suffers from a weak composition and is a little overtextured, but i quite like the mood, and the character that the trees have got.
